Whenever I run the .iso image through all the boot process, It gives me a message saying there are missing CD/DVD device drivers. If I try to run the setup.exe under Windows XP (on the Virtual Machine), two messages appears, saying "The application or DLL D:\Sources\SPWIZENG is not a valid image for Windows. Compare with the installation disc" and "autorun.dll could not be loaded or is corrupted. Setup cannot continue. Error code is [0xC1]".

When I updated from windows 8.1 to 10 the update did not go well and I got some corrupt files. Now I can't open the control panel and many programs don't work. Even at startup I get similar messages about applications. I tried doing a reinstall but it gives me this error :-

What kind of laptop are you using ? Most brands have a key built into the BIOS that have upgrade rights to windows 10, you can easily download a clean OEM ISO from Microsoft and perform a clean install.

If you have non-essential external devices (printer, scanner, etc.) connected to your computer during installation, these can interfere with the setup engine and prevent the installation from completing because Windows 10 is trying to detect and install them. So, keep only the bare essentials attached, keyboard and mouse.

If you upgrade from a previous version of Windows or a former Windows 10 build, a typical blocker for Windows setup is security utilities. Disable them; these include Antivirus, AntiSpyware, and Firewall utilities. In most cases, it is strongly recommended you uninstall these security utilities and install versions compatible with Windows 10.

If you are performing a clean install or dual booting, Windows creates additional partitions during setup. Make sure you choose the right one. Some persons will make the mistake of selecting the System Reserved Partition used to store recovery files.

Sometimes a corrupt ISO file prevents the setup from working properly. I personally made a couple of coasters using the new Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. So the best thing to do after downloading the ISO is to verify the file.

The first one we will start with is the check disk command which scans your hard disk for errors and attempts to fix them. If you upgrade from a previous version of Windows, sometimes corrupted system files can prevent setup from working properly. See the following article for instructions:

I have done everything that is here and elsewhere to prepare for the upgrade. Every time I get the same error 8007002C-2000D. I look up this error and am told to do the same old things I have already done and then I start the installation. It gets to 16 or 17% and then reverts back to windows 7. There must be something else that I need to do but What?

error 0xc1900107 when updating windows 10. wasted 4 hours trying to resolve issue, but microsoft help not very helpful. still do not know how to overcome the problem, and still do not know if my laptop has a security vulnerability. Stopped using my laptop, and only using my mac. If I did not need Office I would never ever touch Microsoft. It has caused me a life time of grief since since windows 95. Would it be too much to ask what the solution to the error codes are, instead of directing people to sites like this where it seems everyone has a problem. Microsoft get it sorted.

b.1) Transferring OEM/additional Applications: i.e. the following file: .\Sources\$OEM$\$1\AppSetup\MSOffice\en_office_professional_plus_2016.iso will be copied at the target PC as: C:\AppSetup\MSOffice\en_office_professional_plus_2016.iso When the OS setup is finished the OEM applications can be manually or automatically installed from the local disk drive.

b.2) Updating OS components: i.e. the following file: .\Sources\$OEM$\$$\Notepad.exe will be copied at the target PC as: C:\Windows\Notepad.exe When the OS setup is finished the existent Notepad.exe gets overwritten by the new one.

The pattern consist of an initial timeout error on a random block# Note that, despite the logged errors, the bug can pass unnoticed because Serva's TFTP error recovery routine does its job; finally the affected file gets correctly transfered but with some considerable delay (+2 sec per error => +40% in our 200Mb transfer example). This error is harder to be seen on small file transfers (let's say less than 32768 blocks). The problem has already been reported to VMware people here (Oct/2013) and they are working on it. Please do not blame VMware on this; it seems the bug is located in some old 3rd party PXE ROM code used by VMware products. The problem is currently (Jan/2015) solved; VMware 11.

The link "Repair your computer" is missing. This is because of a bug within autorun.dll (one of Setup.exe components) which mistakenly checks for the availability of the Recovery Environment based on the current directory (GetFullPathName()) instead of parsing the %systemdrive% variable. While this error passes totally unnoticed when installing from DVD it presents the missing link problem when Setup.exe is run from a network location.

Hello, I am trying to install Windows Server 2016 Trial from TechNet on VMware Workstation Pro 14. I have had Server 2016 on VMware many times but just reinstalled Windows 10 (Host) so I need to install Server again. After downloading Server, I noticed it's only around 4.5 GB where it used to be around 6 GB. I'll continue. After creating a new VM in Workstation, I attach the ISO to the CD/DVD Drive and fire it up. I get to a screen saying click anything to boot from CD or DVD (which usually isn't there) and I click any key. Then it takes me to Windows Boot Manager and says "The boot Configuration Data for my PC is missing or contains errors." It asks me to Repair my computer (see first picture.) I tried hitting F12 while starting the VM and it takes me to Boot Manager (see 2nd picture). But all the options take me to the "press any key to boot from DVD" and then I get the error again. Please take a look at the pics and help me install Server 2016. I never had this problem before with VMware and the TechNet Trials of Windows Server 2016. Then, I decided to install Windows Server 2012 R2 from TechNet and see if I can upgrade from that. It installs fine and goes to the Desktop. I moved my Server 2016 ISO to the Desktop and tried installing it from there. It gives an error about the ISO is corrupt and autorun.dll is not working. So, maybe the problem is with the Download and not with VMware? I tried using Rufus to make the ISO bootable, but it gives an error saying It's missing 2.5 GB from the ISO and it's corrupt. Then I downloaded a Torrent of Windows Server 2016 to see if that works. After copying it to the Desktop on Server 2012, I click on it and open setup. It gives an error: "This device isn't compatible in Windows 10. Contact the manufacturer for more info. VMware SVGA 3D (VMware, Inc.) You'll have problems with your display in Windows 10." Then I downloaded a copy of Windows 10 Enterprise from TechNet. It installed fine and is working perfect. Back on Server 2012 VM, I tried uninstalling the display adapter (VMware SVGA 3D) and then ran VMware Tools and choose repair, rebooted and it still gives the error about VMware SVGA 3D. Does anyone know how I can install Server 2016? I've had it before and never had a problem so I don't know why it's not working. Maybe the problem is with the TechNet download (with the missing 2.5GB and being corrupt) but then why would the other copy of Server 2016 not work? I tried reinstalling Workstation (repair) but that didn't work either. Has anyone heard of this problem? Please reply. Thanks
